UC Football represents Canterbury and Lincoln Universities on Christchurch's pitches. We're the largest sporting club at UC, with 1000+ members across senior football, social comps, and futsal — based right next to campus at Ilam Fields.

From Southern League premier through to the post-game-pint social side, we have a team for you. Saturday senior football, Sunday social leagues, internal university competitions and futsal — each runs on its own season aligned with the UC calendar.

Mens 1st XI
Southern League. Highest level in the South Island during winter.
Womens Development
Christchurch Women's Premiership League. Pathway to the South Island League team.
Mens Reserves
Mens Premiership League. For players pushing into the 1st XI. Mostly U20s.
Lower Grades
Multiple Saturday teams across Mainland Football grades. A level for every ability.
CSSL Sunday League
Three Sunday teams in CSSL Divisions 1, 3, and 5. Social-friendly. Trainings optional.
Masters (35+)
For those aged 35+ who can't stop playing. Always looking for new players.
Uni-League
Internal 11-a-side across 5 divisions. Aligned with UC term dates.
Summer Fives & Sevens
Smaller-sided summer competitions. Tuesdays + Thursdays. All skill levels.
Senior Futsal Academy
High-level coaching once a week, Terms 2–4. Womens Thu / Mens Mon.
Social Futsal
Inclusive Tuesday futsal league. Competitive enough to enjoy, social enough for everyone.
The Executive Committee.
The committee runs the club year-round — from registrations and finances through to fixtures, social events and sponsorship. Everyone is a student volunteer giving up their time so the rest of us can keep playing.

Eighty years of football.
UC Football was established in 1945 as the football club for the University of Canterbury. We've grown from a handful of student teams to over 1000 members today, representing Canterbury and Lincoln Universities across every level of Christchurch football.
Many alumni have gone on to play professionally, secure US college scholarships, represent the Canterbury Pride, and even the Football Ferns. But the heart of the club has always been the same — students who just want to play.
